Meet Lewis
The man behind the business
For Lewis Ede, North Hertfordshire is more than simply the area in which he works—it is where he grew up, where his family lives and where he has chosen to make his own home. Lewis moved with his family from nearby Puckeridge to the village of Heydon when he was seven years old. His parents still live in the same family home today, and Lewis now lives directly opposite with his partner, Catherine. His dad, Adrian, remains a big part of Lewis’s life and is also closely involved in North Herts Carpentry & Construction, helping Lewis with the day-to-day running of the business.
Hardworking and naturally practical, Lewis is someone who genuinely enjoys meeting people and turning their ideas into something they will love. He values honesty, reliability and good old-fashioned personal service. Customers deal directly with Lewis from their first conversation through to the completion of the work, so they always know who is coming into their home and who is responsible for their project. North Herts Carpentry & Construction is built around those values: excellent workmanship, straightforward advice and treating every customer—and every home—with care and respect.
25+ Years Of Knowledge & Skill
With more than 25 years’ experience as a carpenter, Lewis has built his reputation through skilled workmanship, practical knowledge and a genuine commitment to doing things properly. He takes great pride in his work and approaches every customer’s home with the same care and attention he would give to his own. Whether he is creating bespoke fitted furniture, transforming a kitchen or bathroom, building a media wall or carrying out a wider renovation, Lewis enjoys helping people make the very best of their homes.
Grand Designs
Lewis also understands the excitement and challenges of transforming a home first-hand. Before returning to Heydon, he bought a plot of land in nearby Clavering and built his own four-bedroom house. His current home is another ongoing project, gradually being renovated to make the most of its potential and beautiful countryside setting.
Outside Of Work
Away from work, Lewis is happiest outdoors. He has competed in off-road motorbike racing from a young age, with the support of his dad, and continues to take part in enduro and occasional trials events. He also enjoys swimming, mountain biking and long walks through the local countryside—often accompanied by Lola, the family’s German Shepherd, and Sadie, their energetic Border Collie.
